Ok so I cannot grill worth my life when it comes to meats like steak, chicken, pork chops, ribs etc.  Give me a hot dog or a hamburger and I am all over that sucker but hand me a nice juicy cut of steak and I will hand it back to you and ask you just what you expect me to do with it.  Now Lee on the other hand can make a nice steak on the BBQ, problem is that Lee is not always around when it is time to make the meat for supper and so we are left with the char that mommy brings off the bbq, Blake once told me that I am a girl and cannot bbq and I think he may have been on to something haha.  Thanks to Club House and pro Chef Michael I did learn a few secrets to the art of grilling a steak.  I encourage all you steak lovers, even if you think you are great at grilling them, to head over to the ClubHouse website and watch the video.  While you are there enter the La Serious Griller Contest in which you get the chance to win $300 in gear from Canadian Tire and a deluxe La Grille Barbecue Seasoning Pack! – Canadian Residents Only.

Ugh what is up with the weather lately, it is killing me we go from like a million degrees to freezing again in a matter of overnight. I am seriously unsure of how much more I can take of this crap, I just want to know if I should have my capris or my jeans at the top of my drawer but lately I don’t know because the weather is so yucky. I guess it is supposed to be chilly for the next couple of weeks then the temperature is supposed to spike again, I will believe it when I see it.

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Bliss Living. All opinions are 100% mine.

I love shopping for stuff but hate having to try to find it, does that make any sense to you?  I find that shopping especially for my own father and my father in law are super challenging and I generally have a hard time figuring out what to get for them.  Bliss Living is a great site with a ton of great gifts for Dad that will hopefully make the shopping experience much easier on me this year.  While browsing I was able to find a couple of ideas for each of the men in my life.  For my father in law I really loved the personalized work gloves, he is a welder by trade and so is always out working and seems to always have a pair of workgloves on his hands, this way they would be special.  For my own father I found the personalized beverage tub which would be perfect since my dad and his wife love to entertain quite frequently so I know it would be a neat thing for them to have to display.

Not shopping for dad, no worries they also have some very pretty jewelry for mom I am very much in love with the family birthstone pendant and have already informed Lee that I would really like it.

Belly Burner Review & Giveaway

The Belly Burner

Oh about 12 years ago I weighed 100+  lbs less and had four less kids.  Since having Holden who is my last one my biggest thing has been trying to lose the belly that I built up with having those kids.  I was recently given the opportunity to try out The Belly Burner and while I cannot just sit on my butt on the couch and do nothing but expect results I am pleased with the feeling I get out of wearing it while I am doing my never ending housework or taking our hour long walks in the evening with the kids which has been put on hold lately but was a nightly The Belly Burnerritual.  I actually feel this time like if I really work at it and with the help of The Belly Burner I might just be able to take off those unwanted pounds and maybe actually look attractive to my husband for the first time in years (he always tells me he thinks I am hot but I think otherwise).

The Belly Burner Belt burns more calories faster while complementing any exercise or physical activity: walking, biking, jogging, gym … plus, adds support to your back!  The Belly Burner Belt intensifies your calorie burn by increasing your thermal core temperature. Made of high quality neoprene that naturally generates more heat in your core, which increases metabolic rate, the belt focuses energy, and burns off unwanted inches. Neoprene fabric is most commonly used in wetsuits for insulation and in such other items as laptop sleeves, iPod holders and remote controls. The Belly Burner’s simple Velcro design makes it easy to take on and off. It can also be worn under clothes so you can squeeze every extra calorie out of normal daily activities. Available in either medium or large, it is available online at www.thebellyburner.com for $39.90.

With The Belly Burner you also receive a workout video as well called Blazing abs which features Bobby Waldron — celebrity trainer and creator of the Belly Burner Belt. This amazing full-length DVD is the same secret weapon for fat-fighting and ab-sculpting that Bobby uses exclusively with his private celebrity clients.  You will also receive 3 free gifts include Bobby Waldron’s exclusive Exercise and Food Journal, Meal Planner Nutrition Log and At-A-Glance Calorie Counter.

The Belly BurnerI did try the workout video a couple of times but to be honest I just could not keep up with it so I decided to use the Belly Burner while doing my other workouts and I will try the DVD again in a few weeks and hope I can keep up and perhaps look half as good as the people in the video.  All in all I would say that I think this could be very good and effective with some long term use, proper diet and lots of exercise.

I also want to share this video with you which probably can better explain 100 times over what I am trying to say.

Wallaroo Hat Company Review

When it comes to protection from the sun I am a freak for my kids, they have to be wearing sunblock and hats at all times when outside.  This is not generally a problem except that finding cute hats to wear on Maddisyn i am finding is becoming a large challenge and I cannot find anything decent for Holden at all.  Wallaroo Hat Company makes some of the cutest hats I seen in a long time.  I was given the opportunity to review the Cricket Hat for Maddisyn and she looks so adorable when she is wearing it.  The Cricket Hat is a great unisex hat that comes in 6 colors for both boy and girl.  We received the Fuchsia color for Maddisyn and with her skin tone it is just perfect.  The Cricket hat has a 2″ stitched brim, an external adjustable strap with toggle so you can ensure it fits your child around their head as well as an adjustable neck strap to keep it on their heads.  Available in two sizes: S/M (54cm) and M/L (56cm). 100% cotton. Handwash cold.  The cricket is on sale currently for $10.00.  Wallaroo hats sells a ton of different kinds of hats for both men and women as well as children I insist you go check it out for yourself.

Maddisyn looking adorable in her Wallaroo Hat

While your shopping for your new hat watch for the UPF 50+ icon throughout the store, that icon means you are going to get the best protection from the harmful rays of the sun.  “Look for our sun icon throughout the site to determine which hats are UPF 50+. These fabrics are tested by the Australian Radiation Protection Agency and block 97.5% of the sun’s ultroviolet rays. Ultraviolet radiation, or UV, is present in sunlight. The Ultraviolet Protection Factor (UPF) shows how well a fabric protects your skin from solar UV. But remember, a Wallaroo hat only protects the skin it covers. Safeguard the rest of your body by wearing sunglasses and sunscreen.”

I love Maddisyns new hat and I really love knowing that she is fully protected from the sun at all times, as a mom that is my #1 concern is her safety.

Thank you to Wallaroo Hat Company for this great product to review.

When life hands you lemons

curl up in the fetal position in the corner and cry.  Lately it has been one thing after another keeping me away from leading a normal life and blogging my heart out.  We went out of town this past weekend so I spent a week packing, planning, arranging and packing some more.  While out of town Holden got a fever of 103.4 and held it for three days only coming down briefly when given Tylenol.  Finally on Monday he started feeling better and then was very needy and clingy which kept me away from my computer like full time since the only way he would sleep is if I napped him in my lap or up on my shoulder which made it hard to write because that is when I get most of my stuff done is when they are napping or in bed at night.  I know that covers nap time but what about bedtime right, well by the time I actually get him into the crib for the night I am so exhausted that I head straight to bed.

He finally today started halfway feeling betterish but was still clingy and wanted to be held most of the time, this was fine today because we were out during nap time, Blake our second son won a bunch of track and field events so had to go to a zone meet and we went to watch him, we came home and I ended up having heat stroke with a wicked headache so I laid down with the baby and we both had a sleep, once we woke up and were feeling a little better we took the kids to our fair in town, it was amazing watching Maddisyn at the fair having so much fun, I love living through them again.

Carousel at the fair

To make all this that much worse is that while we were at camp I got a terribly bad sunburn and now my arms from my elbow to my fingers are full of painful, itchy, burning blisters and so is my chest where it was showing.

I promise soon once the exhaustion leaves and the kids behave I will be back full time ,please keep visiting because I have an amazing high chair giveaway coming very soon.

Domino’s Pizza Rewards the ‘Taste Bud Bounty Hunters’ & $20 gift card giveaway

May 25, 2010 by Jessi

I was recently given the great opportunity to share Dominos Pizza with you in the form of a gift card giveaway for the pizza holdouts to try the new recipe.  I am happen to say that I am working once again with Dominos to bring you exciting news of another promotion they are doing.  This time it is the taste bud bounty hunt that I get to tell you about.  Dominos is placing a “bounty” on taste buds that have yet to try its Inspired New Pizza – the payment being free food, of course! Domino’s Taste Bud Bounty, which recently launched online at PizzaHoldouts.com, encourages customers to turn in their pizza holdout friends in exchange for delicious rewards.

The Taste Bud Bounty Hunter who successfully convinces the most pizza holdouts to try out the new recipe will win FREE pizza for a year in the form of $20 gift cards – 52, to be exact.

I said in my last post and will say again, I love Domino’s new recipe so I for sure am not one of the pizza holdouts.  Are you a pizza holdout?  Do you need to be hunted?  Will you be a hunter?

Both the hunters and the hunted will receive incentives via e-mail for participating in the Taste Bud Bounty, which utilizes Facebook to further engage consumers.  Participants can easily upload their profile photo from Facebook onto the Domino’s Most Wanted Taste Bud Wall or the Top Bounty Hunter Wall. They can then have their progress updated, and be followed by friends.

To start the search, consumers can go to PizzaHoldouts.com. Domino’s will reward each Bounty Hunter’s first submission with a coupon for a FREE order of Chocolate Lava Crunch Cakes with an online delivery order of $10 or more. Each submitted pizza holdout will receive a coupon to buy one pizza and get a second pizza of equal or lesser value FREE (minimum delivery amount applies, only valid online).

Hunters who successfully “capture” 10 friends – convincing them to order Domino’s new pizza – will receive a coupon for one FREE large 1-topping pizza (with online order only, tax and delivery charge may apply). Customers are encouraged to capture as many pizza holdouts as possible before the contest ends June 27.
