Chase and Blake unfortunately inherited Lee and I’s terrible eyesight and have had glasses since about 5-6 years of age. Recently Bausch + Lomb launched a campaign with Mom Central about the daily talks we should have with our kids be it about school, friends, homework, girls/boys and the tougher subjects like sex, drugs and alcohol. Chase and I have touched on some of the tougher subjects but he is still pretty young to be worried about such subjects right now although I am sure in the future I will be having that talk ALOT.
On one of these talks we discussed bullying and he had said that he gets teased for his glasses sometimes, so we talked it over with each other, Lee and our optician and decided that we would give Chase a shot with the contacts. Because of my participation in this campaign Chase did receive a supply of Bausch + Lomb Soflens Daily Disposable contacts. Unfortunately due to delays in the shipping of them he has only had a few days to wear them before I wrote this posting.
What I really liked is the contacts are maintenance free. He wears a pair and at the end of the day instead of taking them out and going through the cleaning process he simply throws them in the trash and gets a new pair out the next day for wear. Chase has had some problems putting them in his eyes but this is something I had expected and know he will quickly adjust to, sticking your finger in your eye can be quite unnerving sometimes.
What I have noticed with Chase though is when he is wearing his contact lenses he seems to have more confidence then he did when he was wearing glasses and this makes me a happy momma.
I know Chase will continue to wear the contacts and I am sure he will be happier in the long run with this choice. Blake is already bugging for contacts soI am sure that soon enough he will be getting some of his own.
