Betty Crocker’s Win and Give ~ XO LAPTOP GIVEAWAY

Every year we like to sit down with the kids and as a family decide who we are going to make a charitable donation to.  We may not always be able to do much but we firmly believe even the bit we do make counts.  When I get the chance to get behind a charity and contribute I do, whether it is monetary or even a post on my blog to tell you all about things going on.  I am happy to stand behind Betty Crocker Win and Give program.  The Win and Give program is making it easier for kids to give back both locally and globally.  From now through to May 31st your kids within the US have the chance to instantly win a laptop from specially marked boxes of Betty Crocker Fruit flavored snacks.  For each laptop won Betty Crocker Fruit Flavored snacks will give a laptop to a child in Africa.  For more information and coupons for savings check out the win one give one website.

The laptop donated is made with a rugged exterior to stand up to kids with 1 GB of memory and 4 GB of Flash storage, built-in wireless, a unique dual mode display that is readable under direct sunlight from any angle and software designed for children to encourage exploration, creativity, and collaboration. The retail value of this laptop is $199. For more information on the laptop check out the specifications on the One Laptop per Child website.

You can go HERE to download a coupon for Betty Crocker fruit Flavored snacks and in return for your printing off the coupon $1 will be donated to the One Laptop per Child program.  Additionally it would be awesome if you would share with your friends on facebook about this program letting them know you are assisting in donating laptops to children in Africa.

My family regularly participates in community service projects through our church and we donate when we can to the food shelf. Having been in a position where we relied on those services just last year, giving back is very important to us. My kids would love a computer, thanks for this chance.

  2. Alison says:

My family doesn’t do much to give back yet. But whenever we are at the grocery store and they ask for those $1 donations at the register we always do it! I also go through my pantry and canned stuff we haven’t used in a month I’ll donate to a local food pantry.

My family and I give back by volunteering a lot of time at our local libraries. The whole library system here was hit very hard after Hurricane Katrina and public funding just isn’t cutting it to get them back up. We have done cleanups, book sales and donations. We really believe that public libraries are so important for education and communities.

MANDATORY ENTRY: The BIGGEST way I give back is when I donate my time to help out at my daughter’s school. On any given week, I donate about 15 hours a week of my FREE time to tutor students in the 4th & 5th grade at my daughter’s school. I absolutely ENJOY volunteering my time to help enrich & teach children! Plus, the kids at my daughter’s school (she attends a private Catholic school) are the most awesome kids….EVER!
