BornFree Review & Giveaway

When the BPA recalls hit about 2 yrs ago I was lost, Maddisyn had transitioned  from breast to bottle at about 6 months of age and we were using Avent bottles, unfortunatly here in Canada the Avent bottles were on total recall and we were able to return them for a full refund, but that left us with no bottles for Maddisyn and no idea what the heck to use.  Glass bottles were out there but not as much as they are now and it was hard to find and they were a bit expensive in my opinion.  After much searching I found some BPA free bottles but was not happy with them and was glad when she went to a cup shortly after the recalls.
Then I got pregnant again and again was faced knowing that although I waas going to breastfeed I do not produce enough milk and would have to supplement my new baby at some point or another.  So we bought a set of glass bottles for him, but they are too heavy and he has a hard time holding them himself and I am afraid they will break if they fall on the ceramic tiles in stores.
Then I found BornFree and knew my problems were all solved, they have all BPA and PVC free products.  We received an amazing package from them with a bottle, a sippy cup, a 2 pack of soothers, a silicone teether gumbrush and a 2 pack of size 2 nipples for the bottle.

BornFree bottles come in a brown box and come with a size 1 nipple and a cap.  The bottles have an innovative air vent that helps to eliminate colic symptoms by reducing the pressure within the bottle and is medically acknowledged to reduce the risk of middle-ear infection.  The bottles have a softer nipple that does not collapse when baby is trying to drink.  They are shatterproof, east to clean and assemble and are made from polyethersulfone (PES).  BornFree baby bottles are dishwasher (top rack) and microwave safe.  They come in 5oz & 9oz plastic bottles as well as 5oz & 9oz glass bottles.  While I think they are a bit pricey I also firmly believe that my childs safety is worth the costs.  They come in a variety of packs you can purchase and although I normally tell you the prices because there are just so many to choose from I think in this case it is best to save confusion and just tell you to go to the BornFree site to find a package that suits your needs.  Holden loves his Born Free bottle and uses it all the time when he is going to feed himself, which he just started doing, one of the big bonuses is that the handles from the sippy cup works on the bottles so I can put the handles on his bottle and make it easier for him to hold.
BornFree nipples are available in 5 flow rates.
Level 1 is a slow flow wide neck good for babies 0-3 months.
Level 2 is a medium flow wide neck good for babies 3-6 months.
Level 3 is a fast flow wide neck good for babies 6+ months.
Variable flow wide neck is good for babies 3+ months
Y cut wide neck is good for babies 6+ months.
As I had previously mentioned the nipples are soft but do not collapse while your baby is sucking on it.  The nipples come in a twin pack for 6.99 per package.  we are currently using the level 2 with Holden and it is perfect for him with no big messes.
Born Free makes a BPA free cup as well whih has soft teerthing friendly spouts.  It too  has the revolutionary inner valve and airvent which allows the liquid to flow freely without the need for strong sucking nad makes it much more comfortable for your child to drink.  Remember the valve is also medically acknowledged to reduce teh risk of a middle-ear infection.  The cup has the removeable handles with easy to hold design.  Cup is made out of BPA free plastics and come in two sizes a 7oz training cup with soft spout and a 9oz drinking cup with hard spout.  We received the 7oz soft spout one, let Maddisyn try it but she chewed on it more then I liked so we took it away from her and I thought why not give Holden a try, he loves to drink a bit of juice or water out of his cup and whenever Maddisyn goes by him with her sippy cup he gest all mad and wants his own cup it is pretty cute lol.
BornFree also makes one of the only pacifiers Holden would take, he is such a picky boy when it comes to
soothers but for some reason he liked the BornFree ones.  BornFree day and night pacifier has a flexible handle that doesn’t hamper sleep, an orthodontic deisgn to help babies teeth develop properly and a free-air flow shield to protect sensitive skin.  Of course they are also BPA, Phthalates and PVC free.
We also got a teething ring and toohbrush which Holden loves and we take everywhere with us.  It is made from medical grade silicone.  As a first toothbrush it helps remove plaque from day one.  It can massage and soothe sore gums and the unique handle allows easy grip for your baby.  It has 4 different textures to enhance tactile sensitivity.  It can be chilled or frozen for extra comfort.
I told you all that we received an amazing review package at the start and I certainly did not lie, best of all they sent it to me in a cloth reusable shopping bag with the Born Free logo on it.
