“Our sweet little girl Kaleigh was born in January of 2008. Before Kaleigh was even born I knew I was going to stay at home with her. I was SO excited for her to get here, and go shopping with her, play dress-up, have tea parties, and other girly activities. I soon realized that the sweet little newborn we brought home was far from being able to interact in all of those activities with her over-excited Mommy.
I did realize however that she could let me put pretty bows in her hair and put sweet little outfits on her. But bows were hard to find, so I started making them myself! (Kaleigh had and still has a bow to match every outfit). Everywhere I went people commented on my homemade “masterpieces”. Before I knew it Valentines day and St. Patricks Day were here, and I wanted something super special to dress my sweet girl in , but I couldn’t find anything that I like, so once again I made it! I found blank shirts, and had them embroidered with her name and a cute picture that went with the holiday. Once again, everywhere we went with these custom made outfits on, we got all the “oh’s and ah’s”, and people had to know where to buy them. I started selling a few things on ebay, and would have someone else embroider them for me. When I saw how much how people LOVED my creations, I realized it would be much more economical if I was making the items myself… so was born!”
Now that you know how Get Dolled Up Boutique got started let me start by telling you how great it was to work with get dolled up boutique. Sharing many of the same thoughts and ideas but never finding enough time to make my own items between cub scouts and swimming lessons and Holden and Maddy wanting my full time attention during the day i’m so glad I found people like get dolled up.
We recieved a Monogrammed Ribbon Apron in Black, Pink and White for Maddisyn and she loves it as much as I do, she loves to bake or help with supper sometimes and she wears it when she is playing with her little kitchen and sometimes she wears it while she’s just playing around the house with her dolls and such. The quality of this apron is awesome, it’s durable and superbly made so I dont have to worry about her ruining it when she’s playing and the best part about it is it washes easily even though it looks too cute to get it dirty. Even when maddisyn sees us baking or cooking and doesnt feel like helping she wants to wear it and then goes and finds her own thing to do. The pictures above are pictures I have from after about 5 minutes of helping make a cake for a friends birthday, she was tasting the cake batter hence the dirty face. Maddisyn got bored and decided to rummage through the pantry until she found something to play with so she had a party with her dolls and tried to recruit her older brothers as well by using popcorn in her cups instead of pretend tea. The ones here though she was decorating cookies after her brothers birthday party today.
Get Dolled Up Boutique has far too many items to list but some of the items I love are Monogrammed Diaper Bags, Purses and handbags, Monogrammed Baby gifts like Sterling Rattles and Bracelets Silver plated cups and photo albums, they even have Personalized Bridesmaid and Groomsmen gifts. There’s just so many items and ideas for any occassion you really need to go and browse around yourself, but be prepared you could be there awhile.
