Wow I cannot believe it, 11 years ago today I was in a hospital in labor waiting for my first baby to be born. Now 11 years later i have a smart kid who loves to read, does very well in school, is very helpful and extremely sensitive. He can argue like there is no tomorrow and I think he might be a lawyer thanks to his great arguing skills.
I didn’t write out a birth story when he was born, I was 17 and I guess I just never thought of it but here is what I remember.
My water broke at 6 am, I called Lee (we were still living with our respective parents at the time). He hopped in a cab came over and got me and we left for the hospital. Got to the hospital and yup my water had indeed broken but contractions were not coming. We waited until around 3 to see if they would come then I was told we would have to start pitocin. So onto pitocin I went and then the contractions came and man they sucked lol. They checked me around 4 and I was three cms dilated not making much progress. We labored more and then around 5 they checked me and I was at a 5, at this point Lee was tired and wanted to shower and shave, so with my mom there supporting me he asked if I minded if he ran home really quick and showered. I said no since we figured we still had a few hours to go. So he left, about 20 minutes later I started to feel some pressure so they checked me and I was at 9 cm, we called Lee and told him to HURRY THE HELL UP and get back to the hospital, he rushed back down and got there at about 5:40 the doctors came in and got setup for me to push, I pushed twice and at 5:46 pm Chase came into this world.
