Maddisyn drives me insane and draws on my walls with crayons sometimes, thankfully Mr Clean erasers remove it but then I feel bad because she spent so much time drawing her artwork for me and I went and erased it on her. So I knew I had to come up with a solution for her, I tried dry erase boards but those just did not satisfy her need to scribble, she uses the chalkboard sometimes but prefers to do her drawing in her room so that was not helpful.
Then I found the Kids Craft Playhouse and knew I had to get it for her. She is able to have her own little space where she can go in and play with her babies/kitchen which fits very nicely in the Creation Cottage. On top of that she is able to color on the house to personalize it and make it her own space, well Maddisyn and the older two boys color on it together sometimes, she loves to play with the boys and make them go into her little house and she keeps them trapped for hours in there playing with her. I love it, I love watching them interact and this is just yet another way I get to see them interact with their baby sister. I put the playhouse together by myself and while it was a little harder then I am sure it would have been with two people since it is a little large and awkward I was able to have it fully assembled in about 15 minutes which is great for someone with an impatient child like mine.
“KidsCraft Playhouses was founded with a few basic goals in mind, to provide a high quality outlet for play to our children that will stimulate their imagination and foster creativity while maintaining a strict, eco-friendly awareness.”
KidsCraft Playhouses has two models available the Creation Cottage which I received and the Shuttle Imagination which is a rocket ship for your little ones to color and fly away to space in. When I got our Creation Cottage and took it out of the box I was not sure it would survive with Maddisyn since it is made out of cardboard. The only thing that has not survived up to this point is one window on the side that Holden broke off on her, the rest of the Cottage is intact and I think will be up in Maddisyns room for quite some time.
The Creation Cottage is made of 100% recycled cardboard, how is that for eco-friendly. It is white on the outside to make it a nice easy clean slate for your kids to color on and have it show up perfectly. The measurements (Assembled): 42.25″L x 39.5″W x 54″H. The Creation cottage costs $59.95 and saves my walls so is worth a million times more then that. The Creation Cottage has a door, 4 windows, a sun cut out in the roof to let some light in which makes a cool pattern on the floor and a chimney.
I did not receive it but I wanted to provide you with some details on the Shuttle Imagination since I did mention it so this is all taken directly from the site: “Made in the U.S.A using 100% recycled cardboard material, the Shuttle Imagination will take your child on a new adventure every day. The unique design allows for a sturdy drawing surface. The Shuttle Imagination is eco-friendly and encourages creative play. Measurements(Assembled): 39″L x 34″W x 72″H Fin attachments are 12″ in length” The Shuttle Imagination costs $69.95 because it is larger then the Cottage.
