Kinley truly is our miracle baby

I know I just posted my birth story but a detail I did not include initally (it is in there now) is that Kinley is truly our miracle child.  She was born with a true knot in her cord which is extremely scary and although she is OK I do find myself freaking out and thinking omg but what if….  When she was first here it was enough to bring me to tears every time I thought about it.

If the knot would have tightened we could well have lost our baby girl.  True knots only occur in 1% of pregnancies and it can be detected by ultrasounds but Kinleys was not.  Had hers been we likely would have gone ahead with a c-section to ensure her safety and avoid her distress.  Woudla, coulda, shoulda though at this point but I am writing this to get it out and to encourage you all to be informed on this.

On top of the true knot Kinley also had the cord loosely around her neck twice.  Most of my kids have been born like that so I was not as concerned about that as I was about the knot to be honest with you but again it is a concern that all parents have.

The nurses and doctors all referred to Kinley as our miracle baby while we were in the hospital and it is so true.  She is such a good baby though and she is for sure our miracle even before this happened but more so now.

Oh Kinley, oh the stories I have to tell you when you grow.

My first child had a knot in his cord and we lost him before anyone even knew it was there.
