Naptime getting to be a thing of my past?

I am finding it harder and harder to get my newly 3 year old to go down for a nap, before I would lay her in her bed and she was sleeping in minutes, seconds sometimes.  Now I have to lay with her in my bed and we fight for about 45 minutes to an hour before she goes down.

I would just let her not nap but she is a cranky bear by 6 pm if I don’t and then at 8 she is exhausted and we put her to bed and she gets up at 11 and decides to stay up until 2 or 3 am.  This cycle is killing me because I have three other kids who need my attention.

I also am sad because nap time is really the only time I get to work here writing my posts, taking care of giveaways and networking to bring you all some new and fun stuff.

So I am saying a little prayer today, please let Maddisyn start to nap like a good girl once school starts again and we start going to the Parent and Family Literacy Center.  I need those nap times just as much as she does.

Hunter gave up his nap right before his 3rd birthday. You just have to fight the crankiness and keep them up. Sometimes he’ll fall asleep on the couch during the day/evening if we were super busy. Or in the van. But he will go down at night around the same time or at 9pm.

IT SUCKS! I miss him napping. I could clean, I could get blogging done. So sad. RIP Naptime.

Maybe start a new rule. You have to stay on your bed and play quietly until the timer goes off and I come back and tell you it’s time to get off.
If you get off the bed you’ll just have to sit in a corner facing the wall for that time and not play with any toys at all.
A lot of children stop napping well around that age.
