At the end of the summer last year we made the decision to sell our above ground pool that had to be taken down and setup every year and then this spring purchase an above ground with the metal sides that can be left up year round. We sold the pool but have not yet bought the new one. I have my eye on one but before we make a quick decision we need to take into account the other costs we will incur.
We will need to lay down insulators on the bottom of our pool area to protect it against rocks and other nastiness that can puncture the bottom of a pool. Then we need to decide if we are going to buy a deck ladder that only goes to the inside of the pool and attaches to the deck or one that goes to the ground. If we decide to do the deck ladder then we need to build a deck too which means deciding what we want to build it with, pressure treated lumber or make a composite deck with composite rails of course for safety.
Once those decisions are made we need to go through the progress of putting together3, building the decks etc. and before we can even put up a pool we need to redo the fence in the backyard. We started this past year and did one small part that seemed to be falling down and since it was on our driveway we did not want it to fall on my car haha. We started last year with a composite fence so we are going to continue that around the remaining backyard, perhaps this will make the next door neighbor dogs stop barking too if they can’t see us in the yard.
I love doing home improvement projects and cannot wait for our snow to melt away so that I can get outside, get my backyard cleaned up, put back together and looking awesome again for the summer. Despite the fact that I will be having a baby in July that is not going to stop me from hosting barbecues, pool parties, bonfires and all the other fun stuff we like to do and in order to do that I need my yard looking it’s best.
Tell me what you love to do in the summer to your yards.
