I very recently got an iPhone since my iPod touch was stolen while we were on vacation in March. Since having the iPhone I knew that I would need to have things on it for the kids during our long car rides that we sometimes take and for just hanging out around the house to amuse the kids. I was lucky enough to be able to work with Story Chimes on one of their story books. I received Little Red Riding Hood by The Brothers Grimm to review.
I think it is a terrific thing for the iPhone/iPod touch for any parent to have. Maddisyn loves it when I open the book and then just leave her alone, she will sit on the couch and let it read to her while I am sweeping or mopping or loading the dishwasher or writing this review. You can choose to have words or no words on the page and then a narrator reads the story through to you and when he wants you to turn the page for a new illustration there is a big arrow that points at the bottom corner you just drag your finger and the page turns, Maddisyn who is only 2.5 is pro at this now and loves being left to hear the story. I sat and went through it the first time with her because I had to teach her about the arrows and I like the story too so wanted to hear it and see it for this review. The illustrations are great, not overly busy so Maddisyn wasn’t more worried about what she was seeing then what she was hearing.
Story Chimes are on my must have list and I will be buying more for Maddisyn for our shopping days or for her just to listen to and at .99 cents a book it is a lot of bang for very little buck. They have many different titles in different categories like Story Chimes, Story Chimes Classics, Story Chimes Learning, Story Chimes Originals and Story Chimes Espanol.
