Through the eyes of a child the world is always so much more different then I see it. I look at a bird and see a bird my kids look at it and see a gorgeous winged creature that can soar to amazing heights and see the best places in the world. I look at a tree and see just a tree, my kids look at the tree and they see the place that houses a hundred animals and insects, a place they could build a magical tree house and live in the treetops high above the earth watching everyone go by.
I would love to live with the imagination of a child to see things in a young and innocent prospective. Could you as an adult look at a tree and imagine a tree house? I know that I could not, I look at a tree and I see leaves in my pool, on my yard to rake and a general pain in the butt. I think this is actually why I am a terrible photographer too because I just have a hard time seeing the beauty in things. I am simply too busy to stop and smell the roses as the saying goes. I think that is very sad and I am going to have to work hard so that I too can see that tree house instead of the tree, or the beautiful exploring winged bird.
Do you take time to stop and smell the roses or do you like me get so busy you seem to get tunnel vision and only see things for what they are, not what your imagination could make them?
Do you see the tree house:
Or do you see the tree:
