V-tech Motion Gaming System

We are all gamers here in our house.  Between the WII, Xbox 360, PS3, two nintendo DS’s and at least 5 computers we have a lot going on.  But Maddisyn is kind of at a weird age for gaming.  She wants to play but does not grasp the concept or the controls to play the normal games so she is left running around and failing immediatly on our games.  She still has fun but sometimes gets pretty sad when she loses.

When we got the V. Smile Motion from V-tech we knew she was a bit too young for it being that she is only about 2 and a half and the system is said to be for a kids 3-7 but we went ahead with it knowing she would soon grow into it and figure out what to do and we loved the fact that there were so many smartridges we could buy for her to learn with.

The V. Smile Motion teaches math, reading, science, spelling and so very much more all on our very own home TV.   V-Motion is a brilliant breakthrough gaming console that combines wireless, motion-activated play, web connectivity and educational gaming into a system that plugs directly into your television!  The games have a lot of our favorite charecters from popular kids TV shows like Scooby Doo, Thomas the Train, Ni Hao Kai Lan, there is even a Nascar one and oh so many more I could go on and on naming them all.

The system came with the Smartridge “Action Mania”, while Maddisyn is a little too young she really did enjoy trying to play the game and I loved watching her figure out the controls and what she could do.  I look forward to watching her more and more as she learns, figures out, grows and plays with the V-motion gaming system.  One thing I do wish is that this system came with the power adapter, you can purchase one separatley for $12.99 or it runs on 4 AAbatteries and I think we are going to go through a lot of batteries if we do not buy the cord.  The MSRP of the V-Motion is $59.99

You can get a few accesories for the V-Motion one being the optional power adapter I mentioned above.  Another is the V-Link that allows you to track your progress and score on the web.  Just plug V.Link in the specified V.Smile Game Console and it automatically tracks kids progress and scores. Plug the V.Link into a PC’s USB port and it auto connects to a secure site where kids see how they rank against all V.Smile players.  As kids play more of their Smartridges and master more school skills, they are rewarded with on-line bonus games.  Each V.Link only tracks and rewards one child. In order to keep everyone happy and tracking individual progress, your family may elect to get one V.link per child. Both the V-Motion and the Cyber Pocket come with one V.Link included.  The V-Link MSRP is $17.99.
Another thing I really liked about this system is we can buy a seperate wireless controller if we choose to.  The joystick is motion sensing and can be switched for left or right handed players.  Each joystick requires 3 AAA batteries which are not included and comes in pink or orange.  The MSRP is $19.99.

All in all I can say that this is a great system and I cannot wait to watch Maddisyn grow and learn more with it.  The Smartridges are also great gift ideas for family and friends since we never know what to tell them that she wants/needs at holiday time.  V-Tech rocks!!!!!

Thank you the V-Tech for this great product to review.
