Veggie Tales Pistachio: The Little Boy That Woodn’t Review

We are fairly new to Veggie Tales, the kids have watched it at friends and families homes and come home to tell us about it, I have also watched it a time or two while visiting, well half watched.  When we were given the opportunity to review a Veggie Tales movie I said absolutely, I love the message that they put out for kids and I think they are pretty cute for talking vegetables.

We received Pistachio: The Little Boy That Woodn’t from Big Idea Entertainment which is the official home of Veggie Tales.  Pistachio is themed after the well known fairytale Pinocchio, now I absolutely love that fairytale so this was perfect for us and I was able to actually sit and watch it and enjoy it with the kids while answering any questions they may have.

Here is what he Big Idea Entertainment website says about Pistachio.  “Veggie Tales twist on the beloved story of Pinocchio!

Once upon a time in the small Italian town of Bologna-Salami, there lived a lonely toymaker named Gelato and his assistant Cricket. Gelato had no children he could call his own, so one day he decide to carve a little boy out of wood. His name is Pistachio!

Young Pistachio gets involved with some slippery characters. His bad choices and disobedience towards Gelato lead to some sticky situations.

Will Pistachio learn that obeying the wisdom of a loving father will help him find what he really needs and could be the key to saving his whole family? Find out in this new adventure with a lesson about the importance of family and obeying your parents.”

The kids love to watch this movie and when I need 5 minutes of peace, like I do right now to write this post for you I know I can pop it into the DVD player and the kids will actually sit and watch it through, Maddisyn absolutely loves the little ducks in it and I must admit I think they are rather cute myself.  One of the things I like best about this movie or rather my pocket book does is the reasonable price, you can purchase the DVD from the Big Idea Entertainment website for $14.99 which for a great distraction, good lesson teacher and my favorite fairy tale all in one is an amazing price.  I highly recommend this movie to all my friends with kids.

I would also like to share these two coloring pages themed from the movie with you, you can download them, print them off and have your kids color it in.  Coloring Page # 1 & Coloring Page # 2.  I also have this VeggieTales Pistachio Family Time Fun Games sheet I would like to share with you, the kids and I have fun playing these games together as well as discussing the movie, the lessons learned and the importance of the lesson.

Want to take a peek at the movie here are a couple of videos for you to watch before you run out and pick it up for your family to enjoy together.  Just click the link to go to the page to see the videos Trailer.  Also I encourage you to watch the clip embedded below that takes you into the workshop and behind the scenes.

Thank you to Big Idea Entertainment for this great product to review.
